Keto Kraze Or Keto Krazy
Monday Jan 28, 2019
Monday Jan 28, 2019
It was the number one Googled diet in 2018, and it's creating a social media craze! the Ketogenic diet has been around since 500 BC with Hippocrates preaching about intermittent fasting. At the turn of the 20th century, the diet was used to treat diabetics who had type 1 diabetes, and in 1920 it was found to help decrease seizure activity in people who had epilepsy. But is this diet causing people on social media to go crazy? Some say they've lost a ton of weight, have gained mental clarity, and have more energy! Others claim it's unsafe? And what's the difference between ketosis and ketoacidosis?
Our guests Ben Morgan an ICU nurse in the Air Force stationed in Alaska. He’s been a nurse for 8 years. He’s been experimenting with different diets for most of his adult life. He’s tried vegetarian, vegan, paleo, and keto among others. He’s been mostly keto for almost 2 years, and recently mostly carnivore.
Sahil Makhija – YouTuber by day and metal musician by night. He's the host of the popular YouTube cooking show "Headbangerskitchen," he's passionate about food and cooking and currently on a mission to make the Keto diet easy, tasty and very achievable.

Tuesday Nov 20, 2018
Suicide is the the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., (American Foundation For Suicide Prevention).Men die of suicide 3.53 x more than women. The rate of suicide is highest in middle age white men. The national suicide prevention lifeline answered 2 million calls last year through it's toll free hotline 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Who are the 'crisis counselors' that answer those calls? We kick off our "Mo-Vember" ( Mens Health) episodes this month with "Ian" a former suicide hotline crisis counselor. For Ian, being a crisis counselor changed his life and was not just a "job" but a passion project! We discuss positives and negatives of being a crisis counselor, tips on how to become one, using humor as self care, why crank calls to suicide hotlines are never a good idea, and how you can make your coworkers laugh by giving them chair rides!

Monday Oct 08, 2018
"I See Dead People... Walking around like regular people! They don't know that they are dead!" In this episode we continue with our Halloween series and explore the paranormal. Reports of supernatural experiences in hospitals by nurses and doctors are often presented as Anomalous/Paranormal Experiences (APE) and will include apparitions, odd coincidences, death-bed visions and other anomalous phenomena. Some visions appear to be dead relatives of patients who have come to assist dying patients and give comfort to them
through the dying process. But are these healthcare professionals hallucinating or suffering from burn out?
Dr. Terence Palmer, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the Scientific and Medical Network and the Society for Psychical Research, joins us to share his scientific research. Dr Palmer has been trained in hypnotherapy by the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and the Royal Society of Medicine and has a diploma in medical hypnosis from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. Dr Palmer has been a spirit release practitioner since 2003 and his doctorate was awarded for his research on the scientific study of spirit possession. His thesis is published as The Science of Spirit Possession 2nd edition.
Dr Palmer is active in promoting scientific research into the efficacy of spirit release methods with universities in the UK and the USA. He also teaches health-care professionals and therapists spirit release methods in the UK and the USA. His philosophy is to integrate clinical practice with education and research. http://www.terencepalmer.co.uk/srt-training/

Monday Aug 27, 2018
Monday Aug 27, 2018
Cats Vs Kids? Who would you choose to throw off a plane? A 15 year old teenager recently picked a bad day to fly on Alaska Airlines. An 'emotional support cat' was also on the flight and the teen has severe allergies to cats! Well, the teen was asked to leave the flight and the cat stayed on board!
Guest Kelly McCarron (Comedian) joins us to discuss the legalities and policies airlines have regarding 'emotional support animals.' We review what to do if you have an allergy to pets and there happens to be a pet on board your flight, current FDA approval of generic epinephrine, how to keep healthy and stay hydrated on long flights, and what part of the plane has the most germs that can get you sick! A must listen if you are a hypochondriac or allergic to animals and frequently fly.

Narcissist, Sociopaths, And Psychopaths...Oh My!
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
Wednesday Aug 15, 2018
These days the new "N" word is Narcissism. The Selfie. Reality TV. Social Media. What's Your Brand? Am I fabulous? Is our society becoming more and more insecure as we go on? Is Narcissism the new epidemic? Is it one of the many reasons so many marriages fail? Or why people never achieve their dreams and aspirations? Could it be the reason why so many 'Nurses eat their young?'
Our guest Dr. Ramani Durvasula, PhD joins us in a riveting discussion on Narcissism. Dr. Ramani is a licensed clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology at California State University Los Angeles, she is the author of Should I Stay Or Should I Go? Surviving A Relationship With A Narcissist. http://www.doctor-ramani.com/

Eeew! Don't Wash And Reuse Your Condoms!
Monday Aug 06, 2018
Monday Aug 06, 2018
Yes, there are people who wash and resue their condoms, and the CDC wants them to stop! "We say it because people do it!" tweeted the CDC in late July 2018, and now it's freshly traumatizing people! There is a sudden rise in STD's: Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. There were more than 1.5 million chlamydia cases reported, nearly 400,000 cases of gonorrhea and nearly 24,000 cases of primary and secondary syphilis in 2015. More Californians were diagnosed with chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis in 2017 than ever before, marking the third year in a row that the state's sexually transmitted disease cases hit a record high! The trend is mirrored nationwide, where STDs have been rising for five years. Experts blame the increases on falling condom use, fewer public health clinics and people having more sexual partners linked to dating apps. Are we on the verge of another AIDS Pandemic?
Join us as we discuss the next epidemic hysterai on the horizon with guests: Ben Morgan an active duty Air Force ICU nurse (CCRN) - stationed in Alaska. Ben has been in the Air Force for 17 years, a nurse for 8 years. He's an active Bumble and Tinder dater. Amanda Lauren is a Jackie of all trades. Marilyn of none.
