The Art Of Hustle: Homeless Street Artist Documentary follows the lives of three homeless artists as they create art to survive. With the odds stacked against them, they heal through art. Renaissance man Tysen Knight joins us to talk about many things including ART, the meaning of 'FREEDOM', simulated realities, time-travel, and of course his documentary film The Art Of Hustle: Homeless Street Artist Documentary.

American street artist Tysen Knight was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but called New Jersey his home until moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after high school. Tysen currently resides in Palm Springs, California, where his artwork can be found throughout the area; as well as hanging in local galleries. Tysen's love for art has opened the door to many different forms of media including acting in feature films and music videos, modeling, and directing his own full-length documentary, "The Art of Hustle: Street Art Documentary."

Evocative Poetry Part 2: The West Hollywood Poet

"He had been saving up for the future and realized he might not have one." This is a quote from the book "A Quilt for David." In this episode of N&H we continue our series on "Evocative Poetry" with former West Hollywood Poet laureate, and author of the new book "A Quilt for David," Steven Reigns. Steven joins us to talk about poetry, creative writing, his project "The Gay Rub, " which is devoted to collecting rubbings from GLBTQ historical markers, signs, tombstones, cenotaphs, plaques, and monuments, and of course, we'll be talking in-depth about his new book "A Quilt for David."

Steven Reigns is a Los Angeles poet and educator and was appointed the first Poet Laureate of West Hollywood. Alongside over a dozen chapbooks, he has published the collections Inheritance and Your Dead Body is My Welcome Mat. Reigns holds a BA in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida, a Master of Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, and is a fourteen-time recipient of The Los Angeles County’s Department of Cultural Affairs’ Artist in Residency Grant. He edited My Life is Poetry, showcasing his students’ work from the first-ever autobiographical poetry workshop for LGBT seniors. Reigns has lectured and taught writing workshops around the country to LGBT youth and people living with HIV. Currently, he is touring The Gay Rub, an exhibition of rubbings from LGBT landmarks, facilitates the monthly Lambda Lit Book Club. His newest collection A Quilt for David will be out by City Lights in September and is the product of ten years of research regarding dentist David Acer’s life.

Abortion Doping: Olympic Edition

Hurdler Brianna McNeal is an Olympic champion who won the 2016 100-meter dash. She's been banned from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and she's being accused of "Abortion Doping." In this episode, we'll be discussing "Abortion Doping" with Midwife Heather Stroh, ARNP, CNM. We'll also talk about Lyndsay Flach, the 18-week pregnant "heptathlete" who competed in Olympic trials in 100-degree heat. Is competing in the Olympics while pregnant safe? What long-term effects does this have on the developing fetus's brain? We'll be answering all these questions and so much more!

Heather Stroh, ARNP, CNM is a nurse-midwife practicing in the South Georgia/North Florida area since 2002, Having delivered well over 2,000 babies during her tenure. She obtained her master's degree from the Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University (now Jefferson University) and currently works for the Tallahassee Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program, encouraging new FP Residents how to be “with women” in their own careers. Nurses Need To Stop Eating Their Young!

"Nurses Eat Their Young!" It's the phrase that every nurse has heard before. It was first coined by Judith Meissner RN, MSN in her 1986 article on nurse bullying.

In this episode, we'll be talking about Bullying in the health care workplace with special guest Dr. JoNeil Conley. As an OR Nurse, Dr. Conley was bullied by her preceptor, other nurses, and surgeons. In her leadership roles, she witnessed the impact of bullying in many areas of nursing. Her doctoral study was Bullying in the Perioperative Nursing Workplace which found a significant correlation between bullying acts and negative patient outcomes—including the death of healthy patients.

Dr. Conley has taken her experience and made it her passion. She is on a mission to work with nurses, organizations, and others to change the consequences and outcomes of bullying. Her expertise, practical tools, and strategies, including implementing The Meanness Matrix© and How to chart Bullying so your voice is heard” are changing ways to react to bullying. JoNeil has recently opened the Miss JoNeil School of Bullyology an online program to teach others to resist and recover from bullying. The school will be accepting students in the fall.

The Declaration of Independence for Nursing

COVID-19 has left many nurses disempowered and wanting to leave the nursing profession. On this episode, we continue to go "Rogue" and get political with "the Declaration of Independence for Nursing" written by Dr. John Silver RN, MSN, Ph.D.

Dr. Silver writes and speaks about political issues in nursing and healthcare. He has presented at multidisciplinary conferences both nationally and internationally on health policy, the restructuring of healthcare systems using the Public Utility Model, and the role of nursing in that process. He has also spoken to a variety of nurse practitioner groups on political tactics for prescriptive authority and independent practice. He also studied nursing theory, nursing leadership and has a particular interest in the political fracturing of nursing. In 2013, he published his book on political empowerment “just a union…of nurses.
